Luke the Conductor

One of the great things about Luke turning 2 is that he has started using his imagination more when he plays with toys. He'll talk to his trains while he pushes them down the track and pretend the Little People are talking to each other. It's all very cute. But one of the cutest things he does, in my opinion, is pretend to be conducting music.

He follows the same procedure every time he decides to conduct. He grabs a straight piece of train track and his firetruck (no idea why the firetruck is involved, but it ALWAYS is). He'll place the firetruck in front of him and then raise his arms and wave away. There may or may not be music playing. Often, he'll start singing, which takes the cuteness to a whole new level.

I am sure he picked this up at church because I don't often walk around the house conducting in four-four time. One of Luke's favorite parts of church is watching Dora (a very cute older lady in our ward) conduct the music. He'll stand on the pew to capture her every move. She uses a conductor's wand, so I think that is where he got the idea to use a piece of train track. Again, no idea how the firetruck factors into things.
