Oh, that!

Luke is such an enthusiastic little boy. He gets quite excited about most everything. Including fabric. Yes, fabric.

We took a trip to Broadbents in Lehi today because I wanted to get out of the house and find some fabric to make a Halloween garland. Whilst pursuing the rows of fabric, we happened upon a kids section with prints that Luke was so excited about -- trains, diggers, race cars, and his very favorite, emergency vehicles. From his stroller, he was exclaiming, "I see, I see," which in Luke-ese means "I want to see that please." (I add the please optimistically). I gave him the bolt of fabric and I kid you not, he spent a good half hour looking at the fabric and shouting, "Oh, that?" ("Oh what's that?") at everything. It was so cute and so sincere. He wanted me to tell him over and over what all of the vehicles were. Fire engine, ladder truck, police car, ambulance. One of the older ladies who runs the store even came over to see what all the excitement was about.

Of course, I had to buy him a yard. Not sure what I'll make with it -- maybe a pillowcase? -- but he was quite excited to have a piece of his own. When we left, the two ladies working told me they'd never had such an enthusiastic customer.

He held the fabric the whole way home and switched between inspecting it and checking out all of the cool cars that were on the road. I had to snap some pictures of him with the beloved fabric because it is just too funny:

How cute! Way down the road when you drag him back to a fabric store just remind him that he will have a good time! You could make a fun quilt or a simple blanket?
